Glamorous women flash the flesh in some VERY daring dresses and elaborate headwear as they descend on Ladies Day at York races
Glamorous racegoers didn't let the poor
weather affect their sartorial choices as they descended on the Ebor
Festival in thigh skimming dresses, plunging blouses and some seriously
vibrant headgear on Thursday.
High-spirited
ladies donned their finery for Ladies Day at the equestrian event and
sheltered under colourful umbrellas and makeshift rain macs as they
found themselves caught in a downpour as the event got underway.
Luckily
for the gaggle of glamorous ladies, who donned vibrant headgear and a
melange of bold summer frocks, the weather brightened up into the
afternoon, allowing the ladies to kick back and relax in style.
The
well-heeled fillies were seen enjoying pink champagne as they enjoyed
the meet. The female racegoers certainly pulled out all the sartorial
stops, dressing to impress as they battled it out for prizes on the Ebor
Fashion Lawn.
The weather wasn't much better yesterday as glamorous racegoers arrived at York Races on Wednesday.
Bravely
flaunting their bare legs in an array of skimpy dresses, women could be
seen giggling under umbrellas as they arrived at at the equestrian
event in their finery.
Luckily the rain
eased off in time for a royal arrival as fittingly, the Duke of York,
Prince Andrew arrived at the raced this afternoon.
The
Queen's son was suited and booted in anticipation of the day ahead,
arriving in a charcoal grey two piece suit and a sky blue tie.
The royal, 57, appeared to be in good spirits as he chatted to fellow racing enthusiasts as he arrived at the stadium today.
Elsewhere, racegoers were spotted arriving
with less ease - teetering on the slippery ground in towering open-toed
high-heeled sandals after optimistically wearing summer dresses on the
first day of the races at the historic York Racecourse.
Meanwhile,
many of the men could be seen dashing across the pavement, hiding under
their jackets, as they arrived at the Yorkshire Ebor Festival, which
runs from Wednesday until Saturday.
Others had come prepared in practical but not-very-glamorous clear plastic ponchos.
The
women meanwhile retained a sense of glamour for the glittering occasion
and came dressed in their finery, with many opting for geometric
prints.
